Ria Bintan Golf & Beach Resort

Ria Bintan Golf & Beach Resort, located on the picturesque island of Bintan, Indonesia, is home to a world-class 27-hole golf course designed by Gary Player. Opened in 1998, the resort features an 18-hole Ocean Course and a 9-hole Forest Course, offering players stunning views of the South China Sea and lush tropical landscapes. Despite its beauty, the resort faced significant challenges in maintaining optimal course conditions due to its coastal location and tropical climate.

Ria Bintan Golf & Beach Resort approached Cisgenics with several critical issues, including excessive water usage due to high evaporation rates in the tropical climate, saltwater intrusion affecting turf quality, especially on the Ocean Course and inconsistent playing conditions between the Ocean and Forest Courses.

The implementation of Cisgenics’ irrigation control solution at Ria Bintan Golf & Beach Resort showcases the adaptability and effectiveness of smart irrigation technology in challenging coastal and tropical environments.
