Pinewoods Golf and Country Club, located in the scenic province of Benguet, Philippines, has been a premiere golfing destination since its inauguration in 1995. This 18-hole championship course, designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., offers players a unique golfing experience amidst the cool climate and pine-covered mountains of the Cordillera region.
Pinewoods faced distinct irrigation challenges due to its location and climate. Situated at approximately 1,500 metres above sea level, the course experiences cool temperatures year-round. It is subject to heavy rainfall during the monsoon season and dry spells in other months. The undulating terrain, with its steep slopes and varying soil compositions, further complicates water management.
The club’s management was committed to maintaining the course’s lush, green fairways and fast greens while adhering to strict environmental standards and water conservation practices. They needed a solution that could adapt to the microclimates across the course and handle the region’s unpredictable weather patterns, so they turned to Cisgenics’ irrigation control system.
